We began our friendship at a time neither of us were seeking romance. We enjoyed long conversations, playful interactions, and common interest in individual growth and healing. Over time we became very good friends. In a year romance had blossomed while simultaneously we became best friends. We were BFF, best friends forever.

We agreed we didn't want our romance to interfere with our friendship. Our friendship was the most important element of our relationship. In truth, our friendship fuels our romance. We not only love each other, but we also LIKE each other. And we will forever work to keep it that way.

Actually we regularly tell each other we will be best friends forever - through all eternity - and a day longer. Our wedding vows did not include "til death do us part". We chose instead to bond forever.

March 19, 2014, is our third anniversary. We are thoroughly enjoying the journey together after 18 months of engagement and 3 years of marriage. It is fun to be with someone so long and yet find that everyday there is something new to learn or experience. Our household is full, and non-stop. With three children (the oldest is college age and the youngest in 4th grade) in the house and two more coming and going there is always someone coming or going. A ball-game here,  a doctor's appointment there, and if we are really fortunate a summer vacation thrown in for good measure.
